Rebecos Trail

Rebecos Trail is a mountain race designed for getting started in trail running in a privileged setting: the Sierra de Aranguren, on the doorstep of Pamplona. In its 3rd edition (2026), the race offers two circular routes starting and finishing in Egüés, in the Valle de Egüés.

Organised by the Ayuntamiento del Valle de Egüés and the Concejo de Egüés, Rebecos Trail is an initiative to bring mountain races to runners looking to make the leap from road to trail.

The courses

The Rebekos 18.6K (614m D+) is the long distance. A circular route from Egüés-Ibiriku passing through:

  • Refugio Libre (km 6.4) — First landmark in the sierra
  • Aritzko (km 11.4) — Furthest point from the start
  • Tangorri (km 12.9, 840m) — The highest summit of the race
  • Donatsai (km 13.9, 787m) — Second summit with valley views

The Rebekita 11.3K (415m D+) is the short distance, ideal for beginners. It crosses the mid-slopes of Monte Malkaitz and climbs to the summits of Tangorri and Donatsai via the most direct approach.

Terrain and difficulty

The terrain is accessible mountain: well-marked trails, forest tracks, and summit sections through the Sierra de Aranguren. Altitude ranges from 478 metres in Egüés to 840 metres at the summit of Tangorri. The terrain is not technical, making it perfect for those starting out in trail running. Use our gear checklist to make sure you have everything you need for your first mountain race.

Limited spots and prizes

Only 300 spots available. Popular category winners receive prizes from the Hotel Castillo de Gorráiz: spa + massage + dinner for top finishers. After the race, a traditional chistorrada (grilled sausage feast) for all participants.

How to get there

Egüés is just 6 kilometres from Pamplona, in the Valle de Egüés. Direct access via the PA-30 from the Navarran capital. Pamplona Airport is 10 km away. It is probably the most accessible mountain race in all of Navarra.
